Pompes Guinard was a maker of fire engines and fire pumps. While they made motorized apparatus, the majority of their line were small trailer mounted pumps. They also made the fire hydrant shown here. As is the case with many European hydrants, the nozzles all angle downward to relieve strain on the hose and facilitate connections. The bonnet has red reflectors mounted to it, addressing the problem of visibility. The image shown here is from a catalog dating back to the 1930s or '40s.
